Reason #10 to Vote Blue on Nov 5
1) Trump himself submitted falsified business records 34 times in order to cover up his unseemly escapade with Stormy Daniels lest some voters in 2020 find out about it and perhaps be influenced by knowing what he did. After evidence was presented to New York jurors of these business crimes, he was convicted on May 30, 2024. Trump was scheduled to be sentenced for this crime on July 11, but see Reason #6 (Trump’s partisan Supreme Court Chose to Give Trump Immunity – for official acts while President).
Besides Trump, many of his allies have done/are doing jail time on his behalf. (Not counting those convicted for crimes at the Capitol on Jan 6.)
2) Steve Bannon was sentenced to 4 months in prison in 2022 for defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee (Contempt of Congress). The Supreme Court rejected his appeals; he went to prison on July 1, 2024.
3) Peter Navarro, former Trump advisor, was sentenced to four months in prison in January after also defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee. He went to prison in March of 2024.
4) Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for bank and tax fraud crimes and those related to his work as a political consultant in Ukraine. He spent just under two years in prison before ultimately being pardoned by Trump in Dec. 2020.
5) George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign advisor was convicted in 2018 for lying to investigators about Russian contacts. He ulti-mately served 12 days in prison; he also got a Trump pardon in Dec. 2020.
6) Roger Stone, longtime Trump associate was sentenced to more than three years in prison in 2020 for crimes that included obstruction of justice, lying to Congress and witness tampering. Trump commuted Stone’s sentence in July 2020 and later pardoned him. Stone refers to himself as an “Agent Provocateur.”
This alone should disqualify Trump as anyone’s choice for President. BUT, there are many more…. see Part 2 coming tomorrow.
