This was the “Gold Star” father, Khizr Khan, of US Army Captain Humayun Khan, killed in Iraq in 2004. With his wife at his side, he spoke for 6 minutes at the 2016 Democratic Convention, urging people to vote for Hillary Clinton.
He saw Trump as a divider. Turns out, he was right; Trump’s 2017-2020 Presidency was increasingly divisive and ended with an attack on the US Capitol which he slyly encouraged and refused to stop.
At one point Kahn said, …
“Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with their future. Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution?”
Then, with his wife solemnly standing at his side, he withdrew a small blue booklet from his inside jacket pocket, and held it up, adding, “I will gladly lend you my copy. In this document, look for the words, ‘liberty’ and ‘equal protection of law.'”
I recommend you take 6 minutes and listen to this man, no matter how well you do or do not remember his words from eight years ago.

He ended with these prophetic words that certainly still apply in 2024:
“In conclusion, I ask every patriot American, all Muslim immigrants, and all immigrants, to not take this election lightly. This is an historic election and I request to honor the sacrifice of my son, and on Election Day take the time to get out and vote, and vote for the healer, vote for the strongest most qualified candidate, not the divider.”
Khan was prophetic. Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign loss prompted Trump to call “his people” to Washington to interrupt the transfer of power on Jan 6.
And two years later Trump said on “Truth Social” that parts of the Constitution should be terminated!
More people should have taken Khan seriously in 2016. Now, we really know so much more: Trump is psychologically UNSTABLE, can barely read, cannot focus on information presented, and knows little basic geography, history, science, or civics… including the role of the Constitution in America.
