44) Trump is a Threat to Our National Security – 1 of 3

His inadequate basic knowledge of geography, history, philosophy and religions, science, and many other subjects puts him at a disadvantage with other world leaders and in understanding military and intelligence briefings. Dumbing it down for him (a necessity) is likely to edit out nuances available to a competent president.

He has shown a disregard for the security of our country by (a) sharing classified materials with state visitors in public settings such as Mar-A-Lago surrounded by guests and photo takers, (b) tweeting a sensitive Iranian photo, as if he believed it was his personal property, and ultimately, (c) removing many boxfuls of classified documents from the White House in January 2021. He then further denied (lied) that he had done it until confronted with the evidence and then had no reasonable explanation. He has been indicted for this crime.

He did everything he could to stop the investigation of Russian influence on the 2016 election which then led to the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the forced resignation of Attorney-General Jeff Sessions. It is hard to understand why he was so obsessed with this. He could have done the opposite – encouraged the FBI to get to the bottom of it. Multiple insider accounts of the first Trump presidency indicate that he was paranoid about every aspect to the point of distracting him from both normal responsibilities and critical national security issues. Indeed, when Trump was asked at a joint press conference with Vladimir Putin if he believed Putin or our own national intelligence services, he chose Putin.

Unfortunately, US Presidents do not require a “security clearance.” However, if Citizen Donald J. Trump were applying for a job that required a security clearance, this is the criteria that would be used to get a “clearance.”

Based on all that, Trump would be denied a security clearance.

We already know that he has:

• No loyalty to the US Constitution:  Jan 6.  “You need to fight like hell.”

• No honesty: Constant repetition that the 2020 election was “stolen” from him.

• Conflicting allegiances: As Don Jr. has stated: “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” and, “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.” Which might be why President Trump chose Putin’s truth over that of the CIA’s truth.
